Our group program will assist participants to:

•  Assess their export readiness for a product or service approach using our innovative Export Readiness Checklist.

Participants will then be schooled in areas of concern, and given practical strategies and cost effective approaches and direction to strengthen themselves in identified areas.

•  Understand the basic skills set needed to be successful in exporting. This can save time and money, and can ensure that you get the best customer or delivery channel for your product or service.

•  Learn how to exhaustively research a series of markets , and to choose one target market and one secondary market for impact and focused export activity.

This can include finding the market within the market for your product or service.

•  Learn how to prepare properly for an export visit . This includes developing the correct resources, making key contacts through thorough research and networking in the market, targeting the right segment of the market, travelling at the right time, staying in the most appropriate hotels and city areas, and having a winning formula for business meetings.

•  Apply known “tricks of the trade” to increase their chances of success.

Through case studies and examples, the Facilitator will outline the “do's and don'ts” of individual markets and export practice in general, highlighting successful approaches and practices.

•  Explore innovative and different ways of marketing their product, especially where intellectual property or liability/ product control is difficult because of different cultures and legal systems.

•  Develop alternative channels of distribution for products and services. This can be important where the channels are different to those that you use successfully in the Australian market.

•  Network with exporters and experienced industry groups in Australia for information, advice and mentoring.

•  Develop follow through programs that can assist communication and servicing difficulties that will arise when first developing an export market.

•  Harness the power of the World Wide Web to maximise returns from exports and to increase cost effectiveness and management support for exports.

•  Have an open line to export expertise . We will be available to deal with individual, and sometimes confidential information needs. This can be question specific, or developed through the face-to-face program outlined in support of the Plan.

The program is informative and practical, and will leave participants with an actual program for implementation, and in individual cases, will assist them with early implementation of Export Market Planning delivery.

The program will also build competencies and skills for managers in smaller firms so that they can improve their business practices and processes, be cost and time effective in implementation, and take advantage of opportunities to deliver products and services globally.

This workshop format program focuses on practical skill development, interactive discussion, use of humour and anecdotal evidence, audio-visuals and case studies to develop the confidence and skills to put what is learned into practice. It uses simple layman's language.
